Ulan-Batar, Mungollia
This was supposed to be Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, until I discovered that I misspelled it. So I had fun with my misspelling. Though I think Ulan-Batar can be an alternative spelling. This was made sometime in early 2003, I forget when. It is the first fake tourist attraction sketch made sine leaving Japan.
Dae-Jong, Korea
I don't even think there is a Dae-Jong in Korea. Maybe I was thinking of the former president's name. Nevertheless, here is what can be found there.
Morioka, Japan
Finally, I make one for Japan. Though I have never been to Morioka, it is chock full of inside jokes. For instance, Morioka is in northern Japan and is currently the terminus of the bullet train that starts in Tokyo. (Though I hear it will someday be extended to Hokkaido.) Also, Morioka means "Forrest Hill". As for the rest, it is just me thinking things up. I also happened to make this the same day I made Fuji, Image 7, while I was bored in marketing class.
Freemont, California
This is nothing more than a one-joke sketch. And a plagerised joke at that. Taken from P.J. O'Rourke's Holidays in Hell where he pontificates that if Pygmee were raised in Freemont, he would grow up to be an orthodontist.
Masada, Israel
When I heard in my Jewish history class that schools in Israel make field trips to Masada to visit the site where about a thousand Jews held out from the Romans about two-thousand years ago, I made this. Couldn't think of much though. And it is obvious that I don't know Hebrew.
Po River Valley, Italy
So my Geology professor was talking about the gravel beds of the Po river valley.
Charleston, South Carolina
I must apologise, but every attraction in this is an inside joke. I know of two people online who are from Charleston and so in finance class I drew this.
